Dr. Jon Lieff is a neuropsychiatrist with a BA in Mathematics from Yale University and an MD from Harvard Medical School. He pioneered the creation of integrated treatment units that focus on complex patients with combined medical, psychiatric, and neurological problems. And he’s an expert and innovator in developing specialized, innovative treatment programs for brain-injured patients.

For many years, in addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lieff has been researching the question of where mind can be found in nature.

He has a new book The Secret Language of Cells, you may remember him from a recent show.

  • 16:00 Fresh off the Press- New research, performed at Iowa State University and published by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, found that it’s better to do light activity or even sleep than it is to sit. With all the staying home ordered during the pandemic, many people have found themselves sitting around, but according to this study, we all need to be doing something, even if it’s shutting down to sleep. Sleep was associated with lower stress. Both sleep and activity was also associated with better mood and lower body mass index (BMI). This is a perfect time to clean out that closet, organize the garage, or do anything that doesn’t involve sitting. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/05/200520124958.htm
